Valtra takes top three places at tractor pulling Euro Cup event in Bernay

The Valtra Shell pulling team has again taken the top three positions, this time at the Euro Cup event in Bernay, France on 7 June.

All tractors are carefully weighed. Additional ballast is added to Matti Herlevi’s Caesar to bring up total weight to 3501 kilos, and the final kilo is dropped by getting rid of excess fluids.

Six best pulls within three metres of each other

Although Valtra’s performance was again convincing, the competition was very tight. Nearly all of Europe’s strongest pulling tractors participated in the event, and only three metres separated the top six pulls.

“The test competition in Lidköping was very useful, and we applied the best solutions to all three Valtra Shell tractors. There are still some differences between our tractors, for example regarding the fuel injection,” commented Pekka Herlevi.

The competition was won this time by Pekka Herlevi with Sigma Power, followed by Johanna Herlevi with Doris and Matti Herlevi with Caesar. Close behind were Rough Justice from Great Britain, Blue Bambino and John Deere, both from Denmark. The top six achieved pulls of within three metres of each other. Altogether 13 tractors participated in the Pro Stock 3500 category, with seven making their way to the final pull off.

The Pro Stock 3500 competition on Sunday attracted around 4000 paying spectators.
