Valtra and Väderstad demonstrate mini-ploughing in Estonia
08/11/2005Valtra and Väderstad recently teamed up to demonstrate the advantages of mini-ploughing in Kabala, Estonia. The event, which attracted many enthusiastic customers, featured nearly all Valtra tractor models alongside a veritable arsenal of Väderstad implements.

The advantages of mini-ploughing were scientifically – and entertainingly – explained by German professor Dietmar Schmidt. The professor told about the benefits of farming on unploughed fields and utilising microbes in the soil. After the lecture, eight different tractor-implement combinations were presented – everything from simple lightweight ploughing tools to a six-meter pneumatic sowing machine. Farmers who attended the popular event had the chance to test the machinery themselves.
The event provoked enthusiastic discussions about the effectiveness of ploughing on different surfaces and for different crops. Estonian agriculture is undergoing rapid development, and local farmers are extremely interested in the latest farming methods that combine efficiency, economical and natural advantages.
